I am passionate about making portraits that reveal the individuality of each person and the unique relationships that exist within every group. My technical training and decades of experience are important, but I think the enduring foundation of my portraiture is the ability to genuinely connect with my clients. I strive to make every photographic session enjoyable and rewarding. In addition to their portraits, my clients can count on receiving my careful attention and dedicated service. In addition to my portrait work, I delight in attending and blogging about photography shows at museums and galleries in the Boston area and around the country. My photography exhibit reviews, artist interviews, photography quote quizzes and professional photography tips can be found by clicking on the link to my blog, below. I am a member of the Photographic Resource Center (Boston), LightWork (Syracuse), Aperture Foundation (NYC) and Marblehead Arts Association (MA) and am an active supporter of the Marblehead Festival of Arts. I have studied with portrait photographers Joyce Tenneson, Andrea Modica, Kevin Lynch and Michael Grecco and was trained by master printer George Tice. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania.
